Sita Oh Sita
Sita Oh Sita, a song from the British Bollywood stage musical Wah! Wah! Girls, recently transformed Petticoat lane market in Tower Hamlets in to a vibrant and colourful spectacle for it's movie of the same name.
Choreographed by Javed Sanadi who has worked in Mumbai on many movies, the film takes all the glitz, glamour and scale you expect of a Bollywood song and dance routine and translates it to a London setting with additional performers from the local community, featuring almost 100 professional and non-professional dancers.
The musical Wah! Wah! Girls is inspired by the world of Mujra dancers, who for generations have entertained the rich and powerful with a spellbinding mix of dance and song and tells a passionate and playful story of love against the odds set against the vibrant background of the East End in 2012.
Directed by Caswell Coggins. A Sadler's Wells production in association with Leopard Films.
