Sheridan Smith finishes 2017 in Poplar filming for new ITV Drama 'Clean Break'

As filming in December 2017 drew to a close, the new ITV Drama 'Clean Break' carried on shooting at some of our private locations in Poplar!

ITV commissioned the new six part series, Clean Break, early last year. The characterful drama focuses on an ordinary working class woman, Sam, who is caught between two worlds - the everyday life of a devoted and loving Mum and the darker, dangerous world of insider trading. Set in the contrasting worlds of shiny Canary Wharf and the realities of modern suburbia, Clean Break, explores how far Sam will go to survive, claw back some self-respect and get her life back on track.

With a impressive back drop of Canary Wharf, Tower Hamlet's was the perfect borough to offer an impressive skyline for the street filming at the Isle of Dogs. The production also used Medical & Community CentreStroudly Walk  and one of our newest private locations Modern Film Friendly School as filming locations for the upcoming series.

Location manager Gary Pickering commented, "Having filmed in Tower Hamlets over the past few months, it has been a pleasure dealing with The Film Office. The wide range of locations and offered knowledge of filming has helped us out massively with the filming for the series. I look forward to working with them in the future and in the coming year".

Film Officer Emily Gunn also mentioned, "Clean Break have been a great production to work with. They have unit based with us for the majority of their filming in the borough. The back drop of Canary Wharf in the Isle Of Dogs fitted well within the story line, and the private locations helped bring the series to life."

'Clean Break' airs in 2018 and we look forward to seeing the a range of our locations, and Tower Hamlets as a borough, featured on the series.
