Chocolate Films and BFI's: Point of View
Produced by Chocolate Films and supported through BFI's First Light Initiative,Point of View is an inspiring learning project that has given 30 young people on the autistic spectrum the chance to produce 3 short films, relating to their autism and experiences.
There will be a Gala screening on Saturday 2nd March at the Curzon Cinema in Soho (doors open at 10.45am). This special event will be the first time that all 3 films have been shown together on the big screen with the participants able to meet each other, participate in a Q&A and network with professionals in the industry.
These unique films include a documentary, fantastical drama and animation and were developed over a four month period. During this time the young participants attained an ASDAN accreditation, engaged with professional film makers and were trained in all aspects of filmmaking including: scriptwriting, stop motion, camera and sound skills, green screen technology and editing.
Nick Shaw, Workshop facilitator said:
"This project has been a revelation, the young people that I have worked with have taught me so much about how they live their lives, Above all guiding them toward becoming filmmakers has been a fun experience."
A significant and exciting project, come along, show your support and educate your point of view.
The event is free and open to the public although places are limited.
